Touring Cristina’s Whitewashed Home Makeover

Today I wanted to share my lovely friends before and after photos of her home. She has one of my favorite stores downtown Petaluma Ooh La Loft which you think would keep her busy enough with a new baby, but you can see all the hard work she has done with her new house in the counrty. You would not even be able to recognize the before and after photos so I included them both for you.

So excited because many of you have seen that I painted my house a few months back, but my home design project has hit a stand still. However Cristina and Michelle are going to be helping me next. I will be posting more before and afters on my instagram so be sure to follow.

Cristina put a lot of detail into her house (so did Michelle but that will be the next post) and you can hear here what she had to say about  all their hard work

“We bought this outdated fixer upper because of the beautiful land and the potential we saw in the house.

This ranch house was covered in dark wood and had carpet in every room, it was dingy and needed to be lightened up. We completely gutted the entire downstairs while living upstairs. We tore out most of the kitchen cabinets and opened up the space. We also closed off a doorway so the dining area would be more comfortable. We tore out a wall to expand the bathroom and completely redid everything: drywall, floors, electrical, plumbing.
We painted everything white (my favoritecolor 😉 to brighten it up but kept the original dark beams. We retiled both bathrooms with Moroccan in the master and black large hexagons in the front bath. We left the space open, but made it more airy with mirrors, plants and different lighting.

We also painted the entire dark fireplace with a white gloss, which made it so much lighter. The whitewash wood floors made a huge difference and are modern yet still give it a farmhouse feel. It took us almost 9 months to complete this project and we are so happy with our new space.”
